1885 LOW WALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE WITH WINCHESTER LOADING TOOL. Cal. 22 WCF. S# 96544. Bbl. 26" octagon of No. 1 weight. Sporting bbl. sights, with combination tang sight. Thick wall receiver. Blue finish, with case colored hammer, lever, and breechblock. Ebony tipped schnabel forearm and straight grip walnut stock, with steel shotgun buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum record stating "Type: Rifle/ Caliber: 22 WCF/ Barrel Type: Octagon/ Barrel Weight: #1/ Barrel Length: 26 inches/ Trigger: Plain/ Graduated Peep, Lyman combination front sights/ Shotgun butt/ Received in warehouse on April 20, 1904/ Shipped from warehouse on April 21, 1904, Order number 227976". Also accompanied by a Winchester Repeating Arms 22 WCF bullet mold. CONDITION: high finish rifle, retaining over 85% original blue, showing light edge wear, with scattered small spots of surface freckling. Hammer, lever, and breechblock retain 50% original case colors. Lightly worn original wood finish shows scattered minor scratches and marks. Bore has slightly darkened appearance, with strong rifling. Mold in good condition with numerous small superficial dents & dings. (25-1740/DS). CURIO. $3,000-4,000.
